I got the 48kHz/1 XLR input. This requires no software to actually use this but in the User Guide, they do have software you can download for different music-related things. Works with even the most cheap XLR cables you can find. I got this for my Shure MV7 and it works perfect with it. There is a slight crackling when you set up, but it largely goes away with noise gate software. The design is easy to figure out with some tweaking.

FAQ
What Should I Consider When Choosing an Audio Interface for Windows?
When selecting an audio interface for Windows, you should consider several factors. First, think about the number of inputs and outputs you need. If you plan to record multiple instruments or vocals simultaneously, look for an interface with at least four inputs. Next, check the audio quality specifications, such as sample rate and bit depth; a higher sample rate like 192 kHz and a bit depth of 24-bit will provide better sound quality. Additionally, consider the type of connectivity; USB-C is becoming standard, but ensure your computer has compatible ports. Lastly, think about the software included with the interface, as many come with DAWs or plugins that can enhance your recording experience.
How Do I Set Up My Audio Interface with Windows?
Setting up your audio interface with Windows is generally straightforward. First, connect the interface to your computer using the appropriate USB cable. Next, install any necessary drivers from the manufacturer’s website; this is crucial for ensuring compatibility and optimal performance. Once the drivers are installed, open your DAW or audio software and select your audio interface as the input and output device in the settings. Make sure to adjust the buffer size for latency; a lower buffer size is better for recording, while a higher buffer size is suitable for mixing. Finally, test the setup by recording a short audio clip to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
What Are the Benefits of Using an Audio Interface Over a Built-In Sound Card?
Using an audio interface offers several advantages over a built-in sound card. First, audio interfaces typically provide superior sound quality, with better converters and preamps that capture more detail and clarity in your recordings. They also offer lower latency, which is essential for real-time monitoring while recording. Additionally, audio interfaces often come with multiple input options, allowing you to connect various instruments and microphones simultaneously. Many interfaces also include features like MIDI connectivity and direct monitoring, which enhance your recording workflow. Overall, investing in an audio interface can significantly improve your audio production quality and experience.
Wrapping Up
In conclusion, investing in a quality audio interface can greatly enhance your recording and production experience. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to upgrade your current setup, the options listed above cater to a variety of needs and budgets. Take the time to assess your requirements and choose an interface that aligns with your creative goals.
